It really depends on your timetable. Some days are really easy, others are a bit harder. But most of the hard work is done outside of class

There is no way to correctly answer this question. It might be easier or it might be harder... it depends on a lot of different things.

Uni movies faster than the HSC courses, for example what you cover in legal studies is generally covered in the first month of law. You get one class on a topic generally and thats it. You are expected to learn on your own and a responsible for yourself, no reminding that you have an essay due that week etc...

You generally work hard and party hard but it takes a while to get the balance right. You will realise the HSC isn't as hard as you thought and that uni is hard but most learn to cope.

I am not trying to scare you or anything, it is fun but it is also hard work. Good luck

Yup it's like an HSC every semester. You'll get used to it though. By the end, you'll wonder how you ever managed, and trust me, you will.

My days at uni are almost completely social/extra-curricular, albeit interrupted by the occasional tutorial with most of the work done in a cramming session the day before assesments or exams.

Yeah pretty much within the first month you realise that the HSC was really nothing

Depending on the degree you might only have to turn up 2 days a week.

You can skip lectures and you don't have to do readings or homework or anything else that isn't allocated assessment marks.

You don't have to pay any attention in the lectures and tutorials you do go to.

If you are efficient enough with working on assessments you can do them all the day before and spend the rest of your time doing nothing.

If you make good use of study breaks and time between exams you don't need study much at all during the session.

...and if you are intelligent enough you can do all this and still get D's.

The schedule is definitely easier, but the work load is a lot a bigger than high school.

If you want a picture of a day at uni, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever.

the workload at uni is really what you make it. so some people think it's intense, other people think it's a bludge.

for example, if you are aiming to get HDs in everything, then yes you will think the workload is enormous.

however for most people who are happy with a credit average (which is the only thing most employers really look for) then the only times that uni is really hard work is the night before assignments and exams

but can i just suggest to all of you who are starting uni -- lectures will be the most boring hours of your entire lives. but make the continued effort to keep going, because you will find revision much easier just because you have half-listened to someone explain it to you before.

anyway enjoy your holidays everyone :)

Easier than high school to get pass level grades, way harder than high school to get anything above distinction level grades.
