Hey guys, new Ex2 student here. I was wondering whether in the actual HSC exam they accept the use of cis(theta) instead of writing the whole thing out when they ask for the answer in modarg form. Thanks in advance!

nope, cis is invalid and should never be used in the final solution. yes, u can use it for working out but never leave ur final answer in cis. hope that clears it up

You could, but it couldn’t hurt just for reference sake to check with your prof or look at previous examples to make sure.

Yeah I asked him after he said it was fine for internals but for externals(i.e. the hsc) use the full expanded notation
