Failures:
- signing of the treaty of versailles
- transition to democracy - failure to eliminate bias in the court (eg, when hitler was arrested), teachers encourgaing students to support the kaiser and oppose democracy, lack of support from the army
- weakness in the consititution - proproportional representation, article 48
- economic problems - invasion of the ruhr, hyperinflation, great depression
I used these arguments in my assessment for failure. Hope I was of some help.
