nah man, you've been hearing the wrong rumours.
acctb is harder than accta..if you struggled in accta, you will most definately struggle in acctb

i reckon its about the same level of difficulty really, just different stuff. 1b is about interpreting the numbers you calculated in 1a. last year, there was a group assignment as well...

@sarah: OMG u didn't do acct1a?!?!?!

1b imho is definitely alot funnier tho alot more challenging than 1a...
1a is more like a 2u math subject (ie calculation trial balance)
1b is mroe like an english subject... alot of interpretation, managerial decisions, ethical issues allt hose crap...
u gotta do alot of essay writing and critical analysis...

acct is funny? :p bwahaha

yeah i didnt do 1a. I didnt plan on doing acct at all and never thought i would want to attempt a finance major. also, i dont have any commerce reqs so i thought i would skip past acct. alas no.

Lets just say my subject choosing for sem 1 were dodgy. Ah well, blame it on 1st yr jitters. Im catching up by doing ecmt 1 and acct 1a now.

yeh acct1b's much more fun than 1a... not necessarily harder either... lots of fun critical analysis, unlike boring adding n subtracting...
