Hi everyone.
I am studying for the AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION (AMC). I'm in year 9 so I'll be doing the intermediate test.
I have lots of old test papers and their solutions so I test myself to know where i must improve. I'm aiming to get a medal but don't know how many marks that usually is. Their website states that it is around the top 0.3 %. What type of mark would that be? All help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

How close would that be??
On their site it shows previous medalists but not their score. However, if there is perfect score then they put a * next to their name. And that is not common.
e.g. in 2012 only one student got full marks, and he was from Singapore.

Hi, the mark cut-offs for each award depend on the difficulty of the test and also how participants in your year level and state perform.
You do not have to get close to full marks for a Prize, it can be as low as 80, but usually more.
A medal is different however, you will need to get much closer to full marks to get it.
