A HD from UWS is worth more than a HD from a sandstone uni (in law at least). The top unis (as in their students think they are) are giving more HDs out to compete with each other - knowing top firms go for people with higher GPAs. It's very unfortunate. Our uni is pretty fair on this front.

exactly.. i mean.. take a look at the "honours" lists from other unis - the percentage of students who have 6+ GPAs severly undervalues high marks at these unis... not saying those people all don't deserve those marks but i find it very hard to b elieve that any course that hasn't been dumbed down or marked easily or massively scaled could produce more than a half a cohort who qualify for honours...
