you're making it out as if arabs approve of all the things you mentioned. all these isolated incidents do no compare to the collective imprisonment of 1.6 million people in gaza.
the difference between iran and israel is that iran does not proclaim itself as a democratic state nor does it invoice its military bills to the american tax payer, doesn't continue to build illegal settlements, doesn't oversee the collective imprisonment of 1.6 million people and above all, doesn't use the holocaust as a pretext for its crimes.
i don't see why you guys have be in denial; you can write volumes about israel's violations of international law. i can give you links about this all day.
I think they do get pissed at East Asian success re: university/college, and yeah I recently noticed people saying how racist Japan is but seriously who could ever hate East Asians? Its just white people then.i dont think the theory that the left hate everybody who does better than brown people has that much credence
they dont hate oriental east asians for instance though they do vent out occasionally about the persistent never dying xenophobia that exists in industrialised, ultra-successful oriental countries
:')edit: also can people please stop falling for Lolsmith's strawmans?
My argument was more to social conversational arguments, probably terribly expressed. I've had discussions with a bunch of people on the issues of Israel and what not and, like I said before, they literally ignore what I bring up about any other nation doing the same thing, but froth at the mouth over Israel. I realise that putting physical effort into protesting and that sort of activism is a completely different ball game.To be quite honest, to deride someone for not devoting their efforts 'fairly' between Israel and authoritarian Middle Eastern regimes is completely facile. First of all, it's a total infinite regression: How can you protest A when you don't even protest B!? What about C? D? E? F - Z? The entire point of activism is to hone in on a specific issue; in this case, the focus is on the "shameful actions" of Israel, which is purported to be a bastion of Western democratic ideals, surrounded on all sides by barbarians.
I'm talking about Socialist Alliance types who usually don't care about oil or economics or anything like that. Also, the returns to activism when protesting tyrannical regimes are much lower; even if one attempted it, it's very hard for such protests to gain any real traction, given: the traditionally lower responsiveness of authoritarian regimes to international humanitarian pressure, and also our insatiable national thirsts for delicious, delicious oil, and Middle Eastern stability.
Thisall that said I don't really give a fuck about Israel. it is in the nature of the state to do shit things, deal with it
congrats on maintaining some civilitythat's debatable m8
