if you haven't heard of any other browser than IE and Netscape, then... you must be the average home user!!!

There was a break down on who uses what browser on the www.microsoft.com site.

It was something like (correct me if i'm way off)
80-90% of browsers were IE (The majority being IE6, then IE5, and IE4)
5% of browsers were Netscape (Netscape 7, 5, 4)
the rest unknown!

but yeah, FIREFOX!!!

firefox used to be called firebird...
I used to use K-Meleon but now I just use IE ;)
it's not that bad... and might offer a bit more "compatibility" with some sites (well Mozilla variants used to have problems with streaming from launch.com but that's becoz of the Launch network rejecting Mozilla.. not sure about now, but my point is that some sites might insist on having IE.. and false browser-identification feature might not work)

firefox/safari if yr on a mac.
opera is nice, too. anything with tabbed browsing, really. it might seem silly at first, but once you stat using it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. and a pop-up blocker's a good iea. too.

yeh thats another advantage of firefox over IE.

people should be made aware of the negatives of IE and positives of other alternatives rather than just been given the "choice" of IE.

Maxthon is a "plugin" for IE which adds tabbed browsing, a pop-up killer and a host of other features. I think it is worth the download and it is suited for primary usage.

Im using Firefox right now, only problem is the extensions. It comes with no Flash Player/Shockwave or Javascript amongst many others. IE, comes with everything.

Many scripts I apply to my website arent viewable on explorers other than Ie and Netspace (which is shit). My website is full of flash and scripts so I view that in IE.

Firefox is a great interface but, but I use both for different purposes.
