Hey guys.
I was wondering if anyone else feels that they are behind in some subjects. So far this year we have missed out on lessons due to the following reasons:
3 day retreat/camp = 16 periods lost
If thats not bad enough:
random guest talks,
singing practice for as mass,
then mass,
teachers being away constantly
swimming carnival
teachers going on pointless junior excursions
Adding up to probably another 3 days, who knows at the rate we move in some subjects.
And just a whole load of issues in which its like the school takes the attitude that the hsc is second to well everything
All this time lost is really worrying me.
Just as an example in ancient history we are now in like week 5, right and have been yet to move past the first page in the textbook.
That's due to the fact of all the above reasons and becuase we had left over presentations from term 4 last year. You'd think, however, when you're behind that you would get your ass into gear and get into it, but instead we are splitting up the syllabus and making study notes as a class...which is arrggghh - people in our class will just hand in shit from the net they claim to be theirs or not even do it.
Then we will have wasted another stupid three weeks doing that which well in the end won't be helpful.
Luckily I know how to write my own effective study notes and do it for myself, its just that its unfortunate you go to a school to LEARN through a process called TEACHING by - well guess what, a TEACHER ..yeah you got it!
The hsc is so in murky water at the moment, especially with the half yearly exams at the end of term!
Sorry about my ranting
Anyone else been in a similar situation ?
