So rural bonus points won't count towards a law degree?

Apologies, I assumed you meant Academic Advantage bonus points.
Rural bonus points are applicable to combined law degrees: http://mq.edu.au/future_students/undergraduate/bonus_points/rural_bonus_scheme/ (scroll to the bottom of the page).
