I got a letter last week saying i'm in at the hazelhurst and also the armory... though they have to wait for copyright to clear on the excerpt of film that i've edited, they said it was most likely it'd clear with no probs.

it doesn't really phase me that i got in, to tell you the truth, i'm just glad that it means i got over 47 for my artwork... it was one of those one's that would get either band four or top band six depending on the marker...

You sure? Because my teacher said that the artworks you make are yours.

That's pretty sweet, my BOW got selected and it's going to be shown at the Newcastle Regional Art Gallery. Really excited to make it, I was worried because my artwork is huge. Roughly 2 or 2 and a half meters in length. Forty pieces all up. Was a good year we had five in from our school

the quality of the works were superb, it got a bit daunting for me knowing that i'll have to generate such high quality work in 2 terms :/

OK, I saw ArtExpress at the Sydney Art Gallery yesterday and some of it just blew me away. It well beyond what I had even conceived of as being art! Some of it I had to wonder at, but others blew me away.

The simple picture is certainly dead. The complexity to those works and the standard of execution just made me marvel at what is coming out of our schools. It was interesting to see that a few schools had multiple exhibitors. What a testimony to those students, those schools and the quality of teachers guiding them.

Congratulations!

I just wish some of the students who were there alkso viewing the artwork could have given it the respect it deserved. I had to chase one rude individual off one particular photo!!! He was leaning on it! Honestly!

Eh, I saw the Gallery of NSW exhibit, and wasn't thrilled. The one with the mutilated books was fantastic, as were the mechanical 'insects' drawing and the oil painting of the tower and dystopian landscape, but most of it was formulaic and 'good' in a boring sense.

Links to works I thought were impressive:
