So I've looked at the macquarie website and I can't seem to find a course planner or a course program. Like in UNSW it has what law subjects you have to take and what electives you'd take (as in arts major or law elective) and when.

I'm finding it really confusing trying to figure out how many subjects I should choose and whether they should be arts or law.

Does anyone got a general idea of what first semester electives/subjects you take?

thanks guys

you basically have about about 13 core law units you must complete. each unit is has certain pre-requisites, so that in first year you do 100 level law units, 2nd year 200 level ext..

this is what the handbook requires you to do, in order to complete law

LAW (LLB)

Minimum number of credit points - 116; minimum number of credit points which satisfy the requirements for the degree of Bachelor - 68; maximum number of credit points at 100 level - 30; minimum number of credit points in units with a LAW prefix - 74; minimum number of credit points in units with a non-LAW prefix - 33, which must include an approved coherent study for the Bachelor of Arts.
Prescribed Units for Bachelor of Laws: LAW114, LAW115, LAW203, LAW204, LAW208, LAW209, LAW314, LAW315, LAW316, LAW317, LAW405, LAW406, LAW500
here is a quick program i did based on the above.

once you have chosen what arts subjects you plan to do, make sure you meet the following requirements:

Bachelor of Arts with the degree of Bachelor of Laws

  1. Minimum number of credit points: 116
  2. Minimum number of credit points which satisfy the requirements for the degree of Bachelor: 68
  3. Maximum number of credit points at 100 level: 30
  4. Minimum number of credit points in units with a LAW prefix: 74
  5. Minimum number of credit points in units with a non-LAW prefix: 33
  6. And completion of other specific requirements as set out in the Schedule of Undergraduate Programs
I want to major in political science, so i must also satisfy the relevent requirements set out for that major. usually that means having to complete a certain amount of 300 level units.

hope that helped.

From my understanding we only do eight law electives which gives us the 32cp required to reach 116cp.
