I'm really hoping to get into Bachelor of Ancient History, but since it's a new course, theres no atar cut-off and I'm have no idea if I'll get the atar needed to get in. Anybody have a rough estimate of what it will be?

It'd be practically impossible to estimate this since it'll depend on the demand for it, the type of students applying and how many spaces are being offered for it

Since Macquarie is phasing out Honours, you should save yourself the inevitable administrative shitfight that i am currently going through and just study ancient history through a straight BA. Honestly, don't be fooled by the fancy name of the degree; you can study absolutely everything you would study in the BAHIS(hons) through a BA. I can't believe they're still allowing new entrants to the program tbh, it technically won't be possible to finish the degree as far as i can see.

(p.s. it's not a new course, when i got in in 2009 the cut off was like 82-83)

EDIT: Scratch that, i just realised that they have in fact made a non honours version of the course as you say, funny how as an ancient history student i haven't been told this yet. I would still do the BA though tbh, more flexibility.
