So my friend is really anxious about his ATAR 'cos he's aiming for 85-86 for a course he really wants.

His school rank is 40

Below are his internal school rankings and his schools medium HSC results

English Advanced rank 160/250 - 81
Mathematics 2u 20/91 - 88
Mathematics 3u 40/66 - 87
Chemistry 43/55 - 83
Physics 29/64 - 80
Design Technology 18/26 - 85


do you think an 85 atar is realistic ? still have trials and HSC to go

Yes 85+ is realistic.Improve chemistry ranks in order to make the most difference to ATAR.

Boost english and chem and I think he has a possibility of getting low 90s high 80s.
