Need a 92 ATAR for UNSW Enginnering...
School Rank 200-300

English Standard
Rank 2/61, Overall Mark 83% (7% behind 1st), Trial 82% 2/61

Extension 1 Maths
Rank 3/7 (0.5% between first and third), Overall Mark 87%, Trial 86% equal 1st /7

Extension 2 Maths
Rank 2/6 (1% behind first), Overall Mark 83%, Trial 91% 1/6 (Trial was much easier than HSC)

Chemistry
Rank 1/13 (10% ahead of 2nd), Overall Mark 92%, Trial 92% 1/13

Physics
Rank 1/14 (5% ahead of second), Overall Mark 96%, Trial 98% 1/14 (kinda fluke, second got 89%, third 79%)

Despite being really happy with internal ranks and marks I am worried that standard English could drag my mark down substantially. English is disgusting and I hate it, and feeling worried for the exam.

Lol another person. English standard has almost the same scaling as advanced so relax about that. Estimating 97+

*Assuming your trials were normal difficulty, because a 98 in a physics trial makes it sound easy or you're just really good

Standard English actually aligns up if you get a mark about ~80+
98 if all goes well, at least 95 if you get maybe 75 in English

I was so shocked to get that in physics... Still surprised today haha. It wasn't really easy, I would say comparable to HSC, my teacher is kinda a generous marker, but I just made no stupid mistakes in the exam, which was really kinda weird. Literally none. The extension 2 trial was easier than HSC though as 15 marks were cut out that we hadn't covered yet (mechanics), and it was mostly q16 and q15. We only had 2 hours 30 mins though.

I thought the moderation/alignment was different but the scaling was nearly the same? I don't really know
Yes it is about the same, play around with atar calcs that give aggregates - though still slightly lower than advanced.

Thanks for the explanation really helps

Yeah 0.2 so much difference. 0.1 difference in the atar equivalence wow
Lol atar equivalence and scaling are totally different things. Scaling is from raw to HSC lmaooooo. An 80 in adv will get you a 90 while 80 gets you 86 for standard, that's scaling. Scaling does not equal atar equivalence. Is that good explanation?
