Hi, can anyone tell me whether I can get an atar of 95 with these marks? I go to a rank ~300 school, which has 1 or 2 band 6's, but often 0.

Subject Ass. 1 2 3 Trial Rank

English Adv: 95% 88% 96% 88% 1
Biology: 95% 87% - 66% 3
Chemistry: 87% 85% - 44% 1
Physics: 95% 96% - 66% 1
Maths Adv: 99% 97% 100% 56% 1
Maths Ext.1: 71% 98% 84% 62% 1
Ancient Hist: 100% 97% 98% 100% 1

Thanks.

...You decide!

Work hard and you might be looking at a 99.95 not a 95. Other hand, screwing up might make an 80 atar.

Sacrificing biology might be a good choice as the rest is in your control and not dependent on other peoples performance.

His trial marks are cause for concern for someone wanting to get 99.9 ATAR.
95 may be possible though, but I wouldn't guarantee it.
Just being pessimistic so that you don't get depression after being hyped up @Tantrrsh.

I am somewhat interested in the disparity between trial marks and earlier marks. Does it just have to do with difficulty?

Basing off trial marks being same as HSC marks and no improvement in HSC I would guess 90 atar. However his situation is unique and it is important to point it out so he realises the real potential in his ranks. Which makes improving from 90 to 99 or 99.95 e.g a lot easier than at a top 20 school.

Yeah @idkkdi's prediction is decent. Low ranking schools are really unpredictable so regardless of overall mark and rank the trial mark is very influential.

With that being said even trial marks can be unpredictable with low ranking schools. People who got 60s in English for the trials in my school which is also 250+ ended up with band 5's in the HSC. Similarly for SDD people who got 60s, 70s in trials ended up with band 5's in the HSC. This was completely reversed for Maths.

However I would still agree @iddkddi.

Nice achievement, maybe if you are lucky, the school will decide to push you as an individual, up as some low ranking schools do

It's possible to get a 95? By how much would I have to improve from my trial marks?

Okay thank you. How much would I have to improve my trial marks by for the hsc?

I think your school has some really weird marking, I would base your HSC exam ability from your trial marks since it's most similar to the actual HSC. You def need to work hard on math phys and chem because getting 40s 50s or 60s in the actual HSC wouldn't be very good for ur atar. On the upside, you're first in everything except bio so it's all up to you to do well in externals now.

unable to be determined. There is a very bad uncertainty problem when it comes to lower ranked schools. For all I know, your trial marks may be completely off.
