Can someone give me an atar estimate if im ranked
English Standard- 70/140
Mathematics- 30/93
Engineering studies- 5/16
Physics-7/23
IPT-6/43\
I.T.- dont know

and my school rank is in the 390's
My atar aim is 80+. ex-students in my school are saying getting an atar of 80+ is pretty hard. i've talked to my teachers and they said they got 80+ and they didnt study much ? is it easy to get an atar of 80+ ? or is it difficult.
And if the estimate isn't 80+ what ranks do i need to get an atar in the 80's
thanks

I'd say 77-82, assuming your coming in the middle of your co-hort for IPT. If you want to ensure an ATAR over 80, you need to improve standard by 15 places and maths by 5. Getting an ATAR in the 80's is difficult, as it requires a certain amount of application and intelligence. You cannot merely bludge all year and expect to get far over 70.

what would my atar look like atm for the ranks i am doing.

My school is ranked so bad I cant find a rank, (I need a 95 for my course!!)

Maths general 3/42
English Advance 7/109
Music 1/14
Drama 7/120
Woodwork 9/40

the dux last year had a atar of 85.25

CAN I STILL GET 95
Err... yes you can, but I'd say you're looking at around 80-85 with what you've given.

Realistically, you're capable of 90+ (if you ace externals) but since you insinuate that your year is equal to the 2010 cohort, I can't really give you anything higher than that. What is your school rank?

Music 2/5
Pdhpe 7/13

And my year is really really smart everyone keeps telling us and all our ranks are really close

What are you ranked in maths? You have only given your MX1 ranking.

You should get over 90. I know that at a school ranked in the forties the average ATAR is around 90. Since your above average in most of your subjects and they scale well, I'd say you will most likely get more then 90.

Hey can someone please give me an estimate,
2/7 legal
1/7 English adv
2/7 physics
3/12 ext 1 maths
4/4 ext 2 maths ( the three above me, get 90's+ all the time, I'm getting 50-60's)

Is 90 possible?
And what should I improve on, our school is apparently in the top 100

I'd say that you will probably get between 92-95. Getting those ranks at a school ranked in the top 100 is very good. I'd say 90+ is extremely likely.

Listen, keep you head high. It might be really hard to get, but you can achieve it with hard work and a lot of exposure to HSC examinations.
Comparing yourself to the other DUX is fair, but at the end of the day, it can be beaten. Seems that there are a lot of students at your school
and you might be looking at high 80s right now, but at the end of the day, it is your ATAR and not your school's.
Work hard and ace the HSC! Good luck.
But dont worry, if you dont get 95... There are SO many ways to get into uni these days. You'll be fine and if you are really determined to do law, then
you will there one day.
Keep positive... It's not impossible!
