hi, just going through the syllabus and there is something we haven't done!

Compare 2 different product marketing strategies for one focus area and explain why they are appropriate to specific textile products!

Should i just pick 2 companies and see how they market? I have no idea- i don't do business studies!

any help would be great xxxx

ps. I can't find much on the Appropriate Textile technology & Env zSustainability point so if anyone has any tips i will be very thankful!

its saying what different marketing methods would you take for each item
eg swimwear would not be marketed in the same places or ways as pyjamas.
its asking you to asses two different things

What are product marketing strategies again...

It's like, not the four or five P's right?

Like, the answer could be... TV advertisements, celebrity endorsement?

yeah magazine articles, posters, what shops it will be sold in

for surfwear you could say you'd promote it in a surfing magazine
and get kelly slater to promote it and you would sell in surf shops such as...

oh ok, i interpreted as something different;

say eg jeans

while companies such as sass& bide rely on exclusivity, word of mouth, editorial coverage, companies like levis rely pay for tv and mag commercials and also have a "classic" repuatation

Yeah, I thought that too - so if they ask us for product marketing strategies, they're asking for 2 of the P's, are they, and not the grand picture eg Exclusive marketing Vs K-mart TV advertisements?

well the globalisation bit would be for manufacture etc- how it's sent offshore, cheap labour costs, take advantage of developing countries, sweat shops etc

restructuring- about how textile industry is traditionally a migrant work force, govt providing training, education, research & development & then for imports/exports etc all the stuff on tariffs and protectionist policies

does enviromental sustainability refer to the things like
water, air, noise and toxic polution and enery conservation?
i have heaps of notes on that just no idea where they went
i hate ATCF+AI its gunna be the thing that brings my mark down

the goverment legeslation would be
*the limit on the noise allowed inside to protect the health of textile workers
*the amount of pollution that can be put into the air - the use of filters
*the cooling and removal of waste from dyes b4 it enters sewrage systems
*and insentives to produce enviromentally friendly machines?

whereas the other two section are
10 marks on each
plus the option on another 15 for one
stoked! i dson't have to learn it in as much detail
