While Watkins appears to have a higher profile and greater popularity than some of the others, he doesnt even have the support of his own faction, so how can we expect him to buck the dominace of the Right.
Tebbutt according to reports, still wants to stay at home for her young son. But I hear ambition still burns brightly in her. But will the ALP risk the specter of another power couple and the possible complications that it could create?
If someone like Sartor gets the job, the ALP is finished for sure at the next election, though it seems that is the case at the moment, with the last newspoll, when adjusted for true preference flows showing 54-46 - a coalition victory in a typically Labor state.
