i did the austswim course, pretty easy. it involves either a one day theory course which can also be done from cd and a two day practical course. the test requires a past mark of 60% i think, but i found it really easy. there are 20 hours of work experience and then a practical assessment but my employer had a mate who was an assessor who just signed and i think this is common practice. work is easy to get, just ring up pools, most are happy to give you work, pay is alright, and the work is easy.
