im thinking of doing the flexible first year or nanotechnology. i think im more interested in nanotechnology but i don't want to restrict myself, if i did flexible first year and realize i should have done nano would the year be a waste of time?

and say if i aced first year either nano or flexi . . would i be able to transfer to eng?

Specialised subjects really dont kick in til the second year anyway.

First year in science (flexible) and nano are basically the same i think? Even if you start to do nano and you do the nanosciences 1 and nanosciences 2 then transfer to regular science, you could always use those 2 subjects as electives.

btw, nanosciences 1 & 2 are the most boring subjects ever.. Well, at least they were

I think the layout of the nano degree for the first year is:

- Physics 1/2
- Chem 1/2
- Maths 1/2
- Nanosciences 1/2

With a decent grade you should be able to transfer from sci to eng. I transferred from eng to science without any problems whatsoever and my grades in eng were pretty poor

I reckon go flexi, you'll do the nano subjects anyway and then you'll find out if thats what you want to major in.
