Belief Systems: Islam.. Help please?

Ok, i've got this research assignment on Islam. There's so much info on it that it's hard to breaK it down and know what's important. If anyone could give me some ideas/heading/points to work with for the following questions i will forever be in your debt.

Examine the impact of the Belief System on the wider society at a national and global level.

Identify aspects of continuity and change within the belief system.

Outline how change, and resistance to change, affects the belief system.

Anything at all would be MAGNIFIQUE!

What global event have changed/shaped some opinions to do with the Islamic people. Think about current stereotypes and what people generalise events to life styles of the Islamic culture.
