Hi people. I am in the bio lab with the indian male demo. He is screwing my assessment marks up!

He is a hard marker and he is seriously screwing bio drawings' marks. Our bench have him for marking every time, and i don't know why because the other demo said they suppose to swap benches for marking.

Ok, this is why i'm so piss. the other benches get marks like 4.5-4.8+, and our marks, thanks to him, get's around 2 to 4 max.....

He picks on things like labelling ajacent cells. ok fine! for the second drawing, i labelled "adjacent cell". He then told me you should add "part of" in front of it. WTF??!

Then there was this 2 marks for neatness, he gave me half, and when i ask him why, he said "your drawing is very very neat, but your shape is not correct, so it's not neat. But I also deducted 4 marks for your incorrect shape as well" WTF???!

WHat is going on?? then he deduct marks for not labelling this "green pigment" when in the manual, it doesn't ask you to labell it! (i'm refeering to the vegetative cell drawing for those of you who knows). I don't even know wtf is green pigment. OMG. So fucked up.

then there is the worm thingy drawing. he said the thickness is not consistent, when in fact i measure the thickness using a ruler, and it's only 1 mm off! How can he be so picky! (lost 5 marks out of 10) :(

And to be honest, i think my drawings are better than some people who got higher than me who are marked by the 'generous' markers.

If he screw my mark one more time, how can i go for an academic appeal?

I don't even know if such procedures apply to something "small" as labs.

This is definately a tough situation. Have you tried getting someone else to mark your work? You could even try to talk to your LIC about it if its reasonable.

I have heard of very strict marking on bio lab drawings though.

My friend once got ducked in her cell drawing when the cell's membrane wasn't fully completed (the circle wasn't 100% complete, even though it was barely visible).

I know they are tough about it, but if you have seen my drawing, i tried everything to the best of my ability. I use dark 2B pencil to give clear, smooth outlines. I print my labellings, I label everthing!.
Before I hand my drawings in, i ask at least two demonstrators (the other two nice demos) to look at my drawings.

When i get it back, i question the two nice nice demos and they have no idea why i get so low and why so many marks are deducted. They saw nothing was wrong with it..... I could have got 4.6-4.9 with the other two demos.....

my 10% is screwed.... Need to talk to LIC, or whoever they are.

And also, i wanted to ask one of the other two nice demo to re-mark my drawings. but i was afraid that the the indian male demo might find out that i'm complaining about his marking and screw me up even MORE!

oh yeah hey
the markers are SO picky
i seriously finished my line 1/2 a mm away from the edge and they circled it and took a mark off saying 'it wasnt a smooth line'
but i moved prac times.. the demonstrators in my new time are nice

maybe you should have a quiet private word to the other demonstrators, they might disagree and give you a remark.

Keep in mind that the lab demonstrators would most likely have been hand picked by the LIC, so you have to be very careful about what you say.

OMG...I got 3.6 and 4.0 for the drawings.

Yeah, i guess i would have to rip the final exam....i am trying hard with the pre-test. getting full marks so far in them. But seriously, the drawings are not fair.
