Hello everyone.

I am interested in doing a biochemistry/chemistry undergraduate degree. The area I am most passionate about is plant/human biochemical interaction, such as the use of plant compounds in medicine, and also botany. I am interested in cosmetics and medicine, but at this stage I am unsure what specific career I would like to pursue, so I'm not sure about studying pharmaceutical or formulation science.

Does anyone else share similar interests or know whether a general biochemistry/chemistry degree will be suitable for me or alternatively a botany degree or a combination of the two? Does biochemistry/chemistry cover aspects of formulation as well?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

This sounds like a very difficult field to gain work in, All I can think of is hoping to get a job at a university.

If you're interested in Medical Biochemistry there are job prospects but I don't think it's the reality you're visualising..
