Hey,
can anyone explain retrofitting?

is it just using existing buildings and stuff like they have in bladerunner?

and any examples from the film would be heaps helpful

yeah

just how they have got buildings and put like old pipes coming out of them, industrialised them, so u can see the workings of the buildings, like all teh pipes and stuff. example would probably best be Sebastian's house, etc

it's not just using existing buildings.. it's using "old" or pre-current architecture on purpose. it's meant to show the dilapidated nature of the 'earth' world, i guess. also look at props. can't recall any from mind, sorry.
