The fact that you even ask such a stupid question goes to show you dont require/deserve a "high end" guitar.

semi-acoustic telecaster.
I also have a fondness towards danelectro's for some reason.

Yep, play them both man. I have a strat and love it to bits, can get a new sound out of it every time I pick it up, but it's not for everyone you know.

I'm hoping you have a decent amp worthy of those guitars too :)

fenders ftmfw

les pauls have a sweet tone but fuck me they're expensive, and strats seem to be more versatile. and also come in better colours lol

It depends on what your playing of course. If your into Guns & Roses/Zeppelin go the Les Paul. If your more into Clapton, then check out the Fender. Or, just pick your favourite shedder and check out their rig. :)

Strat all the way...I've heard alota experienced guitarists say that fenders are more versatile, in that their sound varies more. Also, they look sexy. Also, they're MUCH HARDER TO BREAK.

strat, my brother uses it and he reckons it's the best guitar out of all that he used to use

If you don't know the answer to this question, then it's actually "neither". If you're just starting out, but an Epiphone, an Ibanez or a Yamaha Pacifica. If you're not just starting you should know the difference between the two by now, or at least be able to walk into a store and fool around on both for a little while and make your decision based on that.

Gibsons are smooth as shit though.
