yeah! Dell has the $1000 off special!!! only until 3 Jan 2005 though.
I'm doing my last comparisons...probably going to end up getting a Dell 1.7Ghz with 3yr warranty for about $2500 (the Acer is just less powerful, and also same price, but only 1yr warranty). Going to ring up Dell with a few questions about their mailing service....they need to be ontime, or else I won't be at home :|

That laptop is quite powerful in most aspects, but it is not designed to be a mobile laptop, more like a desktop replacement.

There was no issue. That model was a desktop replacement which naturally had a shocking battery life, just a bit more so than other laptops that use P4 chips.
