Hi guys.
I am hoping for an 86 or around there, and after putting current trial marks into SAM I get around a 79. I know I can imporve some marks so im just hoping for a second opinion :D

Anyway.
Subject - Trial Mark - Trial Rank - Cumulative Rank
1) English (Advanced) - 62% - 17/39 - 15/39
2) Business Studies - 84% - 1/44 - 1/44
3) General Mathematics - 80% - 13/73 - 12/73
4) Information Processes and Technology - 80% - 5/34 - 7/34
5) Modern History - 86% - 2/16 - 4/16

My General Maths mark will be much better in the HSC as I did quite poorly in the trial. I also hope to pickup a few more marks in IPT. English has been like this all year, and while I would like to think I will be able to get a 75+, I will keep that mark as it is for calculations sake.

My school isnt on the top 120 list, and im not sure how many +90 students we have, however it would be pretty poor compared to most schools as our grade is pretty dumb.

So im wondering, what UAI will I be looking at?
Also, is my Business/Maths mark going to get scaled down badly?

Thanks

Also, might add but I dont know if its important, but IPT was very close, with only a mark or two seperating 2nd, 3rd, 4th.

The marks arent bad but the scaling of the courses might hit you if you don't lift the marks in the HSC. Btw, Im quite offended at you calling the grade "dumb" :p

Ok thanks guys. Thats pretty much what I thought, with English and Maths being the subjects I have to improve most in.

You don't need to worry about the scaling of Bus. Studies so much as long as do well in the exam. It's just the english and maths ranks that need to be safe-guarded by good marks in the HSC exams.

It's fair to say your aligned HSC marks will be higher than your trial results.. for 2 reasons:

1. You will have had all that extra time to study and improve since your trials
2. Marks are generally aligned upwards, as to make the whole state look successful :D

Work hard and you should get that 86 you're after.
