Hey everyone, I was checking out the UNSW Handbook and i read this (in reference to PHysics 1A):

Assumed Knowledge : HSC Physics and Mathematics Extension 1 or equivalent. If you have not reached this level of physics and mathematics you may wish to take PHYS1111 Fundamentals of Physics before enrolling in this course.

So instead of doing a bridging course, wouldn't it be better to just do PHYS1111 before doing Physics 1A ? Is this possible to do in your first year (I heard you have free electives, would this count as an elective) ?

Waste of time spending a whole subject slot on some shit 13 week subject when you could just do a 2 week bridging course, or better yet just work hard in the 1121/1131 level of physics.

Free electives are there for single degree civil engineering students and are called general education units, they won't exist for double degree civ eng students.
