I have a file on the desktop I would like to delete but it comes up with an error message..?

Title: Error deleting file or folder
Content: Cannot read from source file or disk


wtf do I do?

Can you open it? The file may have already been deleted and the desktop just hasn't refreshed yet.

BTW, why is my desktop so slow @ refreshing?

U can delete any file through command window. Start command window then type: del <filepath+name+extension> then press enter. It should delete it.

.....and so does clicking on it and pressing delete, which is what I think we've done here.

this doesn't work for a lot of files any more since windows stopped using real DOS
that's just a shell which most of time doesn't do most of the things which good old DOS does really well

I knu that...but I remember downloading corrupted files from LimeWire which showed it's DL size to be a few megs but when u try to open it it doesn't open and the file size is 0. You can't delete those files no matter how you try it.....except through command window.

[[Edit: I didn't know he was thaqt n00b not to knu how to delete a normal file]
