But a school down the road from us expelled Mel Gibson when he was in Year 9 I think. I lol'ed when I heard that. And my Legal teacher seems to know a few people in politics and media.

EDIT: oh yeah lol one of the guys who wrote the math textbooks we used from years 7-10 was our teacher for a semester in Year 9.

A chemistry teacher at my school is the wife of Geoffrey Thickett who wrote Macmillans Chemistry Pathways.

And that's probably the closest I'll ever get to textbook-celebrities.

I still drool over the fact the my friend who goes to Sydney Grammar had Bill Pender as his Ext-1 Maths teacher in Yr 11 and is now being taught Ext-2 Maths by Derek Ward.

The thing about jacki weaver is that you hear that name and you're like who the fuck? But then once it's brought to your attention, you realize that she's in pretty much every australian film ever made ever.

like last week, I was watching "picnic at hanging rock" and whose name is in the credits? and then like literally days after that I put in "cosi" and she was in that too and I was like "I cannot escape this woman"

My religion teacher last year was Matt Corby's (Australian Idol dude.) grandmother.. yeah I know, not that special. You'd be amazed at how much she got hassled last year by all the girls asking for Matt's phone number/email address/myspace/babies. It was pretty annoying, I kind of felt bad for her.

Oh and Liz Ellis used to go to my school.

Anthony Mundine is an ex student
Some other people (cricket players, footy players) were ex students

My music teacher produced songs for Anthony mundine and some other aussie RnB/Hip Hop artists.

One of the subs at my school, is an actor. He acted in shows like: Home and away, Mcclowds daughter (spelling?) and other ads.

and one of the english teachers at my school was in the last KFC ad, promoting the "freshness" of the chicken.
