A 90 minute nap in the middle of the day is extremely good for learning and memory retention, so I support that idea.Iron said:I reckon an hour kip at midday would be better. Special dark sleeping rooms, with little pods and the like. Then just keep them back an hour more.
That's better for parents, and probably more effective
hell yes.Graney said:There should be no uni classes scheduled before 11am also.
I had a decent 20 minute "micro" sleep in a lecture the other dayGraney said:Doctor Karl endorses this initiative.
I often find my head snaps back violently at the sudden realisation I've drifted off once again. Must learn to wake more subtly.Gay Captain said:I had a decent 20 minute "micro" sleep in a lecture the other day
Yeah, until you wake up and realise someone has drawn penises all over your face.Slidey said:A 90 minute nap in the middle of the day is extremely good for learning and memory retention, so I support that idea.
I had a micro sleep once. Those poor homeless people...Gay Captain said:I had a decent 20 minute "micro" sleep in a lecture the other day

They should build such facilities on uni campuses and in the city, wherever people study or work.Iron said:I reckon an hour kip at midday would be better. Special dark sleeping rooms, with little pods and the like. Then just keep them back an hour more.

Well if it really bothered you you'd be the type of person who'd question the morality of sleeping in past 8Iron said:I think they should be littered around. Like public toilets. Individual like.
I question the morality of having hives of humans sleeping together.
i like your idea, but how would you compensate(to the eyes of the general public, at least) for the hours lost?JaredR said:I think school should start and finish earlier for high school students.
It's a great way to de-conjest Sydney's roads and transport system and means that schooling doesn't (in effect) take up the whole day.
Not to mention the fact that in summer, students will avoid much of the afternoon heat that they experience at school if it finishes earlier.
I know that as a uni student, I hate being at uni anytime after 2pm. My brain just stops functioning.
JaredR said:Keep the hours the same. 6 hour days... just statr those 6 hour days earlier.... even if fractionally...
7am - 1pm.
Yes this sounds daunting at the moment... but society would adapt.
