I run it through Outlook 2003 using the settings provided on the website. I have no problems receiving, but it doesn't let me send anything to any domain except usyd.edu.au. :(

Just forward it to an external account, like yahoo. Then set up outlook for yahoo. Too easy.

Change the setting required for outgoing mail to that of your internet service provider (eg, use smtp.dodo.net.au rather than smtp.usyd.edu.au).

The instructions could be make the above clear, but I guess that they just think that everyone will know to alter the settings should they not be using the university's own ISP (I made the same mistake myself sometime ago :eek:).

I think its your port settings.

Most isps block port 25 for outgoing e-mail, you need to change it to something like 587.

Email Accounts - > Properties -> Change -> More Settings -> Advanced -> Outgoing e-mail port.
