I am from BCom but want to learn some Chinese. Thinking of taking Chinese 1A in the first sem. So wanna ask what they teach there, and what we know after one semester?

chinese 1a is pretty time consuming, there are one hour classes everyday which means going to uni everyday but you get to see people everyday too.
it`s a lot of vocab to remember, you learn quite a bit of grammar to be able to introduce yourself, go to restaurants and reasonably understand the menu and ask directions and all the usual stuff you learn in languages.
