Hello, For civil, can one pick the civil major and then specialize in structures after they have started their course? Or do you have to pick civil(structures) in the first place?

i dno for uts but for unsw you do common first year subjects (math computing physics materials surveying) then in the second year you get a 'taste' of all the majors, and by third year you pick your major.

oh ok. Sucks if you cant for uts.. dunno whether to put down civil or civil(structures).
When applying for the RTA full degree scholarship, does this only apply to the civil major or does it apply to structures as well?

yeah you can change whenever you want. you just send a e-request through to uts and they change it over whenever you want. I know some students who have changed from civil- structural- civil and back to structural.

only problem is you want to do all your changes before you pick any major subs
