I'm sincerely interested in a composing music for media as a career, but have little idea as to how to approach university degrees for this purpose. Are there any credible institutions or universities that provide worthwhile composition courses? In America, for example, some colleges actually cater for music in video games and film, with specialised courses in these areas. I'm having trouble finding similar opportunities in Australia, however.
If, as I sadly suspect, such courses do not in fact exist here, what's the next best thing? Would a course at SAE or AIM help? Is it worth applying to the Sydney Conservatorium Of Music, or is that directed towards experimental, avant-garde music? Is the Contemporary Music course at Southern Cross University of any merit?
Thanks in advance!
