jsut want to know how many PPL are confident in getting
a 70% or + in the HSC.

what is a good mark to aim for in 3 and 4 unit if your a 4 unit student???

any idea what a mark of 70% raw would get as an aligned mark? I know it varys with the difficulty of the exam but specific data from particular years would be great.

Well you can't really use data from years prior to 2001 - in the old HSC, around 75% of the candidature received a mark over 90 in 4u maths!

I think 70% raw is a good mark, and you could probably expect 90+ for that.

50% [Raw] = Good-ish Aligned Mark

75% [Raw] = 90+ [Aligned]

are you certain about that? 50% gets u a goodish mark?

cos one of my friends got 51% in 4u maths trial...his scaled/aligned mark was like...75% or so..........

ure about right for the 70+ thing..but about the 50% part..im not too sure..

Hey feng, a 75 aligned equates to a nice UAI ...

The raw averages for 4unit have ranged between 46 and 68 between 1988 and 1998 with most around 60.

the raw averages I posted were out of 120 so they are around 50% most years.

so 80 raw marks is extra-ordinary?

and is that 46 - 68 percent as in standard deviation? I can imagine the graph shape of the performance bands

Depends on other subjects obviously, but that will factor in nicely with scaling ...
