I memorise my essay.
The trick is - Practice moulding your essay to the harder questions.
You don't need to write the whole thing out - just practice writing your thesis statement + topic sentence for each paragraph.
so when you meet some similar type of questions in the exam, you would have the idea...
It's quite useful for me.. hope it helps
