Heya folks!!!

I totally screwed up the umat exam so I blew my chances at getting an interview for med school. Now, I also have a pretty average UAI (97.00) so, I don't think that it's practical for me to take a gap in the vain attempt of improving my umat score. So, i'm going to uni.

Now, unlike most of the ppl of BOS who take another shot at the umat whilst at uni, i'm not planning on doing a science-related course...i'm planning on doing comm/law (so I have a safety-net just in case I bomb out, AGAIN). So, IF I improve my umat score and manage to get an interview, will I be 'disregarded' because I didn't persue a science-related degree in 1st year?

Thanks for any advice, in advance!

It wont make any difference that your not doing a science degree. But to get in at unsw for non-standards they go 50:50 uai/gpa so u need to do VERY well at uni. I think ur best hope is at uws unless u get a 200+ umat.

to get an interview no as to GET an interview it depends on your GPA and UMAT,

but in the interview they will as you "so why from law to medicine" ....... you may be scored down on your interview if you can not provide a good enough asnwer as to why you chose law
