hey i lived in Avoca Beach for 7 years.
theres not a lot to do there, the beaches are good.
the best ones are:
1. Avoca
2. Copa

NOTE: the locals tend to have a "u dont grow there, u dont go there attitude" and are really funny about "touro's" and people from "the city" - that is unless ur a hot chick! dont worry about it they just dont like touros cos they take all the good videos from the video shop and all the parking spots.

theres erina fair to shop and go to the movies 15 min drive from copa.
public transport is shit avoid at all costs.

there is avoca pub (good food), kincumber "kinny" pub (not happening) , key largo Terigal 15 min drive , club troppo (gosford) 30 min drive (aka: club sloppo), woodport inn 15 min drive.

have fun and respect our beaches!
ps: dont get lost in all the "del" streets in copa.
pps: have fun walking up the fat hills to ur place!

I live on the Central Coast as well - I got lost one time with a mate out at Copa, we thought we were at Tascott (don't ask how) and then all of a sudden a beach appeared so we asked a local. But yeh, it's a nice place.

Erina Fair is great for shopping but during the day gets filled with pensioners from the surrounding retirement villages, and gets filled with 13-year-olds on Friday nights but normally is good on Saturday nights. Full of people our age on Saturdays and Sundays.

Avoca and Copa are cheerin on hot weekends. ;) Terrigal comes to life on weekends and the weekend nights (Fri/Sat), but be warned, there are many tools out there roaming the streets in their shitbox cars.

Most of the time there's not a whole lot to do on the coast really.

er name was lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
And while she tried to be a star
Tony always tended bar
Across the crowded floor, they worked from 8 til 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?

Chorus:

At the copa (co!) copacabana (copacabana)
The hottest spot north of havana (here)
At the copa (co!) copacabana
Music and passion were always in fashion
At the copa.... they fell in love

His name was rico
He wore a diamond
He was escorted to his chair, he saw lola dancing there
And when she finished,he called her over
But rico went a bit to far
Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?

Repeat chorus

At the copa... she lost her love

Her name is lola, she was a showgirl,
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it’s a disco, but not for lola,
Still in dress she used to wear,
Faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her tony
Now she’s lost her mind

Repeat chorus

At the copa... don’t fall in love
Don’t fall in love

I just got back from a week there! Am now eagerly awaiting my cruise...

I would take a car if I were you - Kincumber is a ten minute drive and has a supermarket, cheap liquor store, a movie cinema, and the requisite Maccas and KFC.

In Copacabana itself, there's a terrific take away store called Fat Boys (nice name huh?) at the end of the strip of shops, which has the best burgers.

Oh and the beach is awesome - unfortunately it got cloudy towards the end, but I got a killer tan in three days worth of sun.

Have an awesome time :)

this person wouldn't have a clue
there are lots of people our age which is 17 to 18 at copa, avoca and macs you just gota know how to find them haha and macmasters there is nothing

most people around here is going elsewhere for schoolies e.g me and my friends are going to week 2 surfers some are going on the cruises..only tourists would come here for schoolies if ur looking for a nice place to relax copa is the spot but not much happens here for schoolies more happens at terrigal for schoolies parties..
i lived at copa my whole life and i love the place.... but i just see a disaster waiting to happen with a bunch of turoist guys wanting to spend schoolies in a quiet town like copa i don't think the locals will be too kind

You and your "boi's". Ha ha!
Nah, the coast is good. We've just lived here so long we don't really noticed it. But they're right, there isn't much to do.
Okay, let me see if I can suggest stuff to do...
Um, there is Go karting in Newy about an hour and halfs drive north.
Sky diving at Warnervale 40 mins north-ish.
Paintball at Mt White or Kulnura.
You could surf, just don't be a typical tourist or stir shit, Macs boys and generally any group of surfers tend to get a bit agro just for the fun of it.
There is Largo and the Beery at Terrigal.
Around Macs there's little tracks through the bush and hideaway beaches, but don't fuck them up cos they're really nice. There's some awesome surf spots if you know where to go and no I won't tell you.
The Beachie @ Toukley goes alright if you got heaps of mates with you. Otherwise it ends up like Troppo but instead of 40 yr old skanks you got 20 yr old skanks.
Oh and Erina Fair has ice skating and the movies and heaps of shopping.
