What's a good length to write a creative writing? How many pages or how many words?

If you mean the length of the creative story asked in the HSC ?
I siutable lengh is enough that our hands can cope with within 35 minutes.
Try Practicing your story if you have one pre prepared under exam conditions.
If yout in the finish within 35 to 40 minutes your sweet
But i believe by this time of the year you should be aware of this

Depends on quality not quantity. Althought it should be equivalent to about 4 pages of the HSC booklet - noting standard writing size (standard amount for a booklet). So that's where you should be aiming.

700 words is where it should be I reckon.

Mine is quite short and I will be lucky to get 4 pages - I'll have to write big, but I got 15/15 in the trial and most people wrote more than me and got significantly less (<9) so I think the quality vs quantity argument especially applies to the creative writing section. Especially when you consider that if you start your essay off really poor it's possible to get better through more detail/more writing, but in the case of creative writing you could start with a crap idea and well, go no where.

40 minutes = 4-5 pages; but only write as much as will be integral to your story. No one page wonders like SiN3m is suggesting.

I was told by my teachers that to give yourself a fair chance, for composing in AOS you need to be writing at least 2 A4 pages. That's probably 3 booklet pages?

I'd be aiming up from that a bit, though.

Anyway, I wholeheartedly agree- quality over quantity.

BAHA. This thread made me curious about how long the one I used in trials was- So I checked.

1,400 something. The hell?

I got 14/15 though, so I was pretty happy =)

Snaz it up with some evocative imagery, have a look at some poetry and see how the pros do it, i suggest TS Eliot. Central images makes your story look impressive, keep coming back and alluding to a certain image. If you have trouble creating imagery, use a thesaurus.
