Speech Path year three, semester one

COMMUNICATION AND LIFELONG DISABILITY
Ease - 6-7/10: depends on how hard you want to take it... its pretty easy, and common sense...
Lecturers - 7-8/10: David is very sweet and a really nice lecturer... hes really interested in us being able to get a broad understanding, rather than just do well in an exam...
Interest - 7/10: got a bit tedious at times, but ok for your average speechie, which is me.
Overall - 6/10

Haven't got the mark for this subject yet, so can't really comment on it completely.

NEUROGENICS II
Ease - 5/10: the classwork is pretty shite, but the assignments are SO BLOODY MASSIVE.
Lecturers -8/10: Leanne and Chris are both pretty sweet... Leanne is really good, whilst Chris is just really nice... Leanne is better though...
Interest - 6-7/10
Overall - 4-5/10: The assignments were just toooooo massive!

SWALLOWING
Ease- 6-7/10: pretty straight forward..
Lecturers- 8-9/10: Chris is good, and Monika is EXCELLENT. She's easily one of the best lecturers I've ever had.
Interest- 6/10: I think this interest thing is a stupid measurement, thats a very personal thing isn't it, whether it's interesting or not?
Overall- 7/10

QUANTITATIVE HEALTH & SOCIAL RESEARCH
Ease- 7-8/10: it's pretty easy... I passed with a CR and literally didn't listen in a single lecture.
Lecturers- 2/10: I couldn't even tell you who the lecturers were.
Interest- 1/10: Such a stupid stupid subject.
Overall- 1/10: It's boring as bat shit.

PATIENT MANAGEMENT: COUNSELLING
Ease- 9/10: it's all common sense really...
Lecturers- 7-8/10: David is good, but he's pretty boring. Tutes are pretty good though, if you get Lisa Foster...
Interest- 7-8/10: It's highly relevant for speechies, but pretty tedious.
Overall- 8/10

PATIENT MANAGEMENT: LEARNING DISABILITY
Ease- 9/10: soooooooo easy.
Lecturers- 4/10: bahahaha Karen Pepper..
Interest- 1/10: very tedious.
Overall- 1/10: a highly unnecessary subject for speechies, especially since we're doing communication and lifelong disability at the same time!

PATIENT MANAGEMENT: BEHAVIOUR THERAPY
Ease- 9/10
Lecturers- 9/10: Lisa is so nice.
Interest- 4/10: it's hideously boring.
Overall- 4/10: assignment is piss easy, but subject is boring.

PATIENT MANAGEMENT: PSYCH ASSESSMENT
Ease- 9/10: Steve always tells us whats in the exam... hes kind like that.
Lecturers- 9/10: <3 steve.
Interest- 1/10: it's all the same psych shit again... plus the lecture was on at 4pm on a monday, after a break, so nobody ever went, and steve was aware of this...
Overall- 6/10 : boring, but easy.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 3A
Ease- 8/10 (no exams, but have to do a bullshit 2 min presentation, and go on a shadowing assignment for 2 hrs... harder to organise than to actually do)
Lecturers- 6/10 : Belinda Kenny is pretty nice, and like Skeeta mentioned, shes excited, but nobody else is. She's pretty pleasant though, jst teaches a really shit subject.
Interest- 3/10: its hideous.
Overall-8/10: As Skeeta mentioned, its easy to pass... but don't let that fool you, people have been known to fail PD in the past... you have to attend 80% of the lectures also.

1st Year Physio

Semester 1

FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY A
Ease - 5/10. Found it rather hard as an introduction to anatomy. ALOT of content.
Lectures - 8/10. Karen Ginn is great. Lectures/slides are easy to follow. If you want to pass the subject you need to go to the lectures. Prac's were good too.
Interest - 9/10. I found it really interesting, especially with the pracs.
Overall - 8/10. Good subject which is rather easy to study for but requires alot of study. Also one of the only subjects relevant to physio in 1st year.

INTRODUCTORY NEUROSCIENCE
Ease - 4/10. It's neuro.
Lectures - 5/10. Hated the lectures at first. They expected you to know way to much for an introductory subject (but suppose that's just uni). Hard to follow too and hard to know what to study.
Interest - 6/10. Interesting stuff even if it's a tad hard to follow at 1st.
Overall - 5/10. Has a bit of relevance to physio. Hard to know what your supposed to study and the lectures and tutes don't match up

MOLECULES AND ENERGY
Ease - 8/10. If you did either chem or bio in the HSC it's possibly the easiest subject you'll do but if you didn't then it's hard.
Lectures - 3/10. Only subject I've ever fallen asleep in. Both lecturers have whiney, annoying voices.
Interest - 5/10. Revision of year 12 chem and bio, some parts are interesting.
Overall - 4/10. Pretty boring and dry.

DESIGNING HEALTH RESEARCH
Ease - 8/10. Went to 3 lectures all year and got a credit.
Lectures - 2/10. Very, very boring.
Interest - 2/10. Boring.
Overall - 2/10. Boring, crappy, irrelevant subject with stupid lectures

FOUNDATIONS OF HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY
Ease - 7/10. Fairly easy and interesting. Exam was harder than expected
Lectures - 8/10. Most were interesting and finished early.
Interest - 8/10.
Overall - 7/10. Don't really see the point of it....

BIOMECHANICS A
Ease - 4/10. The content in the lectures wasn't too hard but the exams were nothing like the lectures and very hard.
Lectures - 3/10. He could of reduced the length of the lectures by about an hour if he wasn't so slow and didn't go off on tangents all the time. If you've ever had him you'll understand why....
Interest - 4/10.
Overall - 3/10. It's a prereq for 2nd year clinical so PASS IT

MOTOR PERFORMANCE AND LEARNING
Ease - 6/10. A bit of common sense is required but the exam was stupid. Over 100 multi choice questions and each asked about a different study. You can pass on the assessments tho.
Lectures - 4/10. Boring and the lecture notes are about 20 pages long for each lecture
Interest - 6/10. Interesting enough, faily relevant to physio.
Overall - 5/10. Tutes were fun enough and the lectures were ok but not the best subject ever

Interest - 6/10
Overall - 7/10

Cognitive Neuropsychology
Ease - 9/10. Psych is fairly easy
Lecturer - 9/10. Steve <3
Interest - 6/10
Overall - 8/10

Language Impairments In Children 2
Ease - 5/10 (LOTS OF BIG ASSIGNMENTS)
Lecturer - 5/10 Linda knows her stuff, but GOES SO SLOW. We never finish on time and our exam was based on a part we didnt even go through in lectures (but we knew ahead of time)
Interest - 4/10 It is very neccessary but sooooo draining
Overall - 5/10

Neurogenics
Ease - 6/10 (everyone thought they were struggling, but killed the exams )
Lecturers - 6/10
Interest - 6/10 Another draining subject. Very boring, but neccessary
Overall - 6/10

Professional Development
Ease - 9/10
Lecturers - 5/10
Interest - 1/10
Overall - 4/10

Clinic
You either spend a semester on campus with a client, or off campus for 10 hours observing normally developing kids in preschool. On campus is fantastic. Off campus is less fantastic but 100% easier
Both have major assignments involved (analysis of language etc)
