I think the general rule is that they are allowed, but it depends on the marker.

Some markers will obviously mark you down, even if they are told not to.

i personally am generally disappointed in myself if ever i submit a piece of creative writing that doesn't contain the use of the words cunt, fuck or gangaslutwhore.

Most teachers frown upon it, i did it in the trial and was marked down from a 13/15 to a 12/15

I'm not sure what would happen if you wrote something like that.

Technically, if it follows with the theme then it should be fine but there's always bias with the marker and you'll probably get marked down because of an inappropriate subject.

The best thing to do if that happens is to sue.

DO NOT DO AN EROTIC SHORT STORY OR SWEAR

in your hsc, the test itself may be marked by a nun! they wil deduct 2-3 marks if they find you story offensive so it is probably best to avoid this sort of thing.

Most teachers will subtract marks for swearing and eroticism is abit like teen angst in that they just mark you down for it.

What about if you compose an erotic short story? =D
Even better, write an erotic story for a school assignment so your english teacher can bust a gut laughing when you walk into class the next day.

The HSC isn't a piece of art it's about judging your ability to write normally, eroticism is not good unless jusified and even then considered a no no.

Swearing is allowed but not if you use it generously. The bigger problem with this is that I'm yet to come across a swear word that isn't colloquial. Yes Fuck is common, but it's still colloquial.

And think of it this way, how do they tell you apart from a literature genius who can get into character extremely well and a douche bag who doesn't know any better?

Keep those things in mind and don't read any Warren Ellis before going into your exam.

Basically, the answer is yes. However, always have a purpose in using it. If there is no advantage in its usage, then omit it.
