"Include a detailed method including written in steps, the methodology used and risk assessment"

What does methodology mean? Does it mean the idea behind how the method works and why the method is viable in testing the aim of the experiment?

Can someone please explain to me the difference between method and methodology in simple terms? Thanks :)))

Methodologies are discipline-specific approaches and processes of our research as opposed to methods which are the specific ways in which we go about collecting our research data.
