My english teacher before he left our school told me that he thinks myself along with 2 other students are going to do really really well (was a very awesome ego boost moment for me)

Now one of the students he mentioned is topping the cohort, myself and the other one have been somewhat fucking up all year and hanging about the lower end of the band 6 range and now I'm actually cooked o_Oo_Oo_O

If their mark meets whatever course they want to do why does that matter? not every school does the same exams maybe their earth exam is harder
buddy pal... if you dont know history you dont know anything, they go to a rank 100+ school i highly doubt their exams require anything over a 5th grade level of thinking...

good on you mate in about 10-20 years youre gonna find out why you should have done math while making pennies and complaining about house prices
aw shucks i hope that they let people with PEASANT environmental science degrees into the breadline : (. also everyone here will be complaining about house prices unless theyre making 200k a year

yall need to chill... different people want different careers and not necessarily think the whole point of a job is to make as much as money as you can... it can be about doing what u like and getting to make a career out of it. to be fair though school ranks do matter and the harder the school exams the scaling comparatively does better (look at selective schools). anyways wish u the best of luck ms spiderfan on ur trials!

I used to be one of those people that would pull an all nighter to perfect my stuff for 1 extra mark. Now I would risk losing 3+ marks for sleep. During trials I always set alarm to wake at 6 to study but change it to at least 7:30 every time anyways. I just don't think I care enough 😂

I've really let myself go this year I think I even cared more in year 11.

english for some reason is the only subject i do somewhat want to do well in probably because i enjoy it quite a bit
the caring more in year 11 is so real i literally can not be bothered with this year anymore

some mfs need to get their head out their ass i dont care that u go to a top 30 school ur probs jus some obnoxious selective school kid who has no real grasp on the world around them because ur trapped in this bubble and think u have the right to look down on others and value people on their academics which is js crazy... im literally from a top 5 selective school & sick of the superiority complexes that everyone around me has ong ur not better than anyone, everyone thinks we're pretentious and clique-y for a reason u probs the type of mf to ask for someones atar in uni, there are a lot more important skills in life than academics, leadership and social skills (ie not thinking ur better than ppl) will get u so much further than a random maths test bffr (a lot of the top people in my grade have dropped maths completely, its not necessary for success and i know theyll end up achieving 99.5+ regardless)
im not just valuing people on academics, i'm also valuing them on their socio-economic status, which for you is clearly very low

Paper 1 probably not terrible. comprehension solid but essay was shit, can get a b if i'm lucky.

Paper 2 - Mod A probably bad I didn't address the stimulus, would be satisfied with a low B. Mod B potentially good, I loved the question and got carried away with it. Mod C my mind blanked and I wasted time and barely wrote anything (1 page) so I'm for sure failing that.

Was ranked in the lower end of the Band 6 catchment and now I think my rank is fucked

Not too upset but still disappointed with myself.
hey thats better than how i did 😔
being last ranked in english adv (61/61) i finished my common mod essay although it was largely yap and only 13 quotes in total, absolutely butchered short response in the worst way possible. mod b was the worst since i really hate emma and only wrote not even 2 pages, screwed up mod c and wrote 4 pages but it was just so badly done. mod a was worse than i expected, with only 2 scenes from the movie and around 13 quotes from my poetry.

💀 bruh I love the message you're trying to bring out with that- And note I don't disagree bc they are acting like complete asses, but if you seriously go to a top 5 selective school, there is very low chance that there are 'lots of the top people' dropping maths altogether.
