Socialisation refers to the process of interaction whereby individuals and groups learn from transmitted knowledge and through observation and participation.

Social and cultural literacy refers to a person’s ability to communicate effectively and ethically across society. They are aware of their place in society and are willing to make a contribution to their society and culture. They are able to recognise and understand values, beliefs, customs and practices that differ from their own without being judgmental.
