YES :(

Probably because I don't go to any of the lectures, and the only study I do is a few hours before the test.

EDIT: Wow! I just checked, and it seems I passed the last test :D (but only just).

Btw, is there any maths tests this week?

decent discrete textbook + lecture notes (treat it like a syllabus) + do homework + do past paper = HD

I realise Im getting repetitive now :p

if we negate the statement, we get

!decent discrete textbook || !lecture notes (treat it like a syllabus) || !do homework || !do past paper = !HD

in terms of statistic, if you have less than half of the criteria satisfied (i.e. less than 2) you will fail.

Typically less than 25% of the class fail.

Oh by the way I failed my stats test so whateverI said above may be wrong.

haha nice one

I started finding the discrete maths I learnt useful in comp2111, that whole course is like discrete maths on computers.. lucky I did my work back then

and not goin so good at the newb stats course (2859) either

I'm never going to a discrete lecture ever again after me and my friend got kicked out of a lecture by cowling.

And yes, I'm probably going to fail this subject

haha what was the reason of kicking out?

cowling must be one tight lecturer, tighter than du or steele, since in theirs never has one been kicked out, only voluntary walk-outs.

cowling was tight in the algebra lecture last year.. ppl got kicked out cuz their friend called them on mob.

If greenhill, steele and cowling are tight then there are no stronger words to describe Hirshorn (sp?) and Hunt.

People working in the Maths Department are, well, weird. Except Peter Brown who everybody loves.... in terms of teaching.
