What made them change it only for Biology?

They felt rankings didn't quite accurately predict a person's ability after heaps of case studies for Biology, so they removed it. Its sort of a guinea pig, rumor is that they are going to remove it for all the subjects in the next few years.

yeah, i heard that too, they did it for bio because so many people do biology so the marks would be pretty accurate anyway so the rankings dont matter. They realised that the only exam that should count is the HSC so they're taking out the internal marks in a few years.

Right so why don't they take out the ranking system for English since EVERYONE does it, eh? Wouldn't the external marks be accurate enough if 30,000 kids do standand and 30,000 do advanced?

no thats why there not doing it for english yet, because EVERYONE does it. because if it doesn't work then most of the people will be affected, and also sometimes for english, people do really good in internals and bad in externals vice versa, but in biology its harder to do that as its usually consistent results which is shown in research so that is why they can do this for biology, as the results would be affected the least but having the greatest effect to test this new system
