require you to have already done the whole 3unit course first before u do it?
In my school there is an "accelerated" course for a few students who have done their HSC maths in year 11. I am not one of them, but if i do 4unit maths would it be ok still?

4u maths is no way requires the completion of 3u first.
You study them concurrently.

Some topics, such as integration, would require that you had done that topic first in 3u.

It would require the completion of the Preliminary Extension 1 course (Yr 11).

Not sure if that's what you're asking - otherwise, listen to Estel. :)

like estel said, you don't have to do all of 3u before you do 4u.
i imagine most schools do 3 and 4 at the same time, but there are also a fair few, like mine, that accelerate the best 3u class in yr 11, thereby finishing the course early and giving those who chose to go on to 4u in the next year a bit of extra time...

I havn't even 'completed' the 3u course.
You'll find that upon taking the 4U course... your 3u knowledge will expand itself and all of your energy will basically go into 4u

some schools dont follow the suggested order of topics from the Board though ;)
mine is an example

well depending on what topics you've done, you may need to teach yourself on some 2U and 3U topics.
but... mainly its the calculus bit and maybe some trig identities.

Some specific topics (such as 4U intergration) can really only be studied after doing there 3U equivilent ...

If im doing 4unit , do I have to do the 2unit exam during the HSC. Im in year 11 at the moment and im gonna do the 2unit exam coming up because im in the accelerated class, and im pretty sure im not gonna do well, should i repeat the 2unit course next year or should i just do 3unit and 4unit only.

No as both 2U and 4U exam are on the same day.

Accelerating 2U course before 4U maths is a good idea. 4U topics takes longer time and more focus to understand.

You're right... seeing people answering question on brand new topic is quite amazing, especially it is always that person who answer questions....
