i hate screaming songs, i always thought the point of writing and making a song was for it to be heard, you'd think that an artist wouldnt write words for people not to understand right??

speaking of not understanding.. that made no sense

A lot of the vines tracks on the first CD is layered with singing, and screaming. Which i think is effective. I guess it just depends on the context of the song and the way it sounds.

Not like those Heavy Metal guys....the make my ears hurt.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean they can't sing.

Look at Mikael from Opeth, not only does he "scream" (growl) but he has one of the most beautiful voices when he does sing.

Black Francis/Frank Black is indeed quite the screamer.

Screamed vocals, when properly used, can be very effective... Among my favourites is Kurt Cobain's performance of 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night?". Now theres some quality screaming. :)

And yes, they can be annoying at times, depending upon the singer.

Well it really depends on how good the vocals are, some good examples would be Zach la Rocha from Rage Against the Machine and Chris Cornell from Audioslave. Anyone heard Havoc go off from AFI?

At the drive-in sorta scream sometimes. well they did.

They actually have a genre called Screamo!!!
yeah. screamo. i love the stuff...

i'm not really into the deep grindcore/metal screams. it's all about the high-pitched screaming stuff.

Don't like it when people scream in a song? then don't listen to rock music. Because rock is all about screaming. I can't listen to a rock song without screams unless if it's Smashing Pumpkins 1979 and stuff like that where musically it's happening.
